wintering blackcap morphology request (1 Viewer)

Hi all, I'm a PhD student at Uni Freiburg, Germany currently studying migratory blackcaps breeding here in SW Germany and adaptation of migratory behavior. It would be very helpful to our research is anyone has some morphological data from blackcaps ringed in the winter (wing length, p8, etc) to compare to our local breeding population. All birds wintering through out the range are of interest, especially those in the UK and Mediterranean.

If anyone has such info, or knows someone who might, please email me at:

Thanks and keep up the posts!

Hi Raeann, your best bet is probably to contact the British Trust for Ornithology, which should be able to provide this data.

Sorry, not answering your question, but presumably you've seen these recent related papers...
