Opticron scope & Fujifilm compact. (1 Viewer)

I have a Fujifilm Finepix J250 compact camera & a Opticron ES80 scope with a HDF 20-60 X zoom eyepiece. Is there an easy to use adaptor that will enable me to digiscope using this combination?

Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately no "easy" solution direct from Opticron. The only solution we could provide to you "as is" would be the UDCA:

Otherwise, you'll need to use something like the SRB universal DC adaptor:

http://www.srb-griturn.com/dc-mount-1602-p.asp

with some kind of step ring/adaptor to go to e.g. the 50065 DDC adaptor:

I'd guess you're looking at around £100 either way.

Pete,

Thanks very much for your reply,I may well be in touch soon.

I've had my scope for around 3 years now and must say I am really pleased with it and it has proved invaluable in my hobbies of birdwatching and "plane spotting".

It proved very useful when I went to the U.S. in May 2008 & I'm taking it to Japan when I go on a 3 week holiday in November.

David.

I had useful chats with the good people from Opticron and SRB Griturn at Birdfair and it seems the Fujifilm compact does not really "do" digiscoping. Never mind SRB Griturn turned up trumps with an adaptor for my Canon SLR body (40D) - thanks for all your help.

I just need a cable release now to avoid / reduce camera shake.
