Today, in Lido di Venezia, I observed some redpolls and 1 or 2 were rather white with a lovely pink on the breast. This is the first:

One of those rather light-bellied, little marked flammea for me. I'd say they are different birds, note the different intensity of streaking on flanks. There are so many of these pale Redpolls in Europe this winter. They can show all features one would expect in Arctic Redpoll. To ID a Redpoll as exilipes I would want to see all features combined in one bird. As for these IMO e.g. not frosty enough, the back is too dark, the ear-coverts too strong contrasting to rest of the head, bill too long...
