It used to be easy to put a in in a map, but it defeats me now.

How the heck do you do it?

Oh gawd - sorry, I seem to have missed off the 'p'!!

That should have read - how do you put a pin in the map!!

I think I know what you mean. If you right-click and then select "What's here?", it puts a pin on the map.

Thanks, indeed it does CoC.

Not quite what I was looking for though, as you're limited to 1 pin (at least that was all I could manage!)

A bit more fiddling about, I got into My Maps, then Edit and managed it that way - what a palaver!
