Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Cormorant? (1 Viewer)

Sorry, don't mean to fill up the whole forum with my posts! I swear I do the best I can to ID the birds I see before I pester you folks. ;) I saw this bird while on a cruise with my family. We were in Cabo San Lucas, and there were Magnificent Frigatebirds and Brown Pelicans everywhere. This fellow was hanging out with several pelicans near the docks.

There look to be three primary Cormorant possibilities in that area (which is on the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula): Brandt's, Neotropic, and double crested (and perhaps an outside chance of pelagic in winter -- though I am not sure when this was taken). I agree with juvenile Brandt's Cormorant based upon the very short tail.

And do not worry about the number of ID requests you make. That is what we are here for!

Best,
Jim
