Tame turnstone (1 Viewer)

Went for a day trip to Bridlington with the family and whilst on South shore promenade near the harbour a little turnstone came flying in from inshore towards the sea, landed on the prom wall and then proceeded to run around near the roadside scavenging for some kind of food scraps, not 5 feet from lots of other day trippers. Most welcome and unexpected. No camera though :(
 
They can be incredibly tame at times. I saw a few running under a deckchair that was being sat in at the time. Rather useful for photography: http://www.tonykeenebirds.co.uk/bbirds/turnstone.html

Sometimes they've been known to like people a bit too much and can make a mess of bodies washed up on shores. Apparently caused a few identification problems with bodies washed up after the Dieppe raid in 1942...
