Sunny brisk chilly day. My wife took the kids out for about 5 hours so I took the opportunity to go out. It was a bit of a disappointment. At the state park that's quit woods and many shallow ponds and lakes, I had hoped to see something more interesting than mallards but that was all in 2 hours.
I went to another pond where last week I saw some mute swans, hooded mergansers and buffleheads. They were still there. A few more buffleheads than last time.
I guess that the only thing interesting was that I was able to really see how small buffleheads really are. I knew that they were small but seeing them in the same photo with a mallard makes perspective easier. And of course the buffleheads are closer.
