Quite a good birding day today.

At Langholm there was a Grey Heron. I am sure it was the same one i saw here last year. It was quite unafraid on humans, and in fact flew towards us when it saw us feeding crisps to the ducks. Had a great time taking dozens of photos.

Later I saw a group of five waxwings today outside the village of Newmill in the Scottish Borders. My first and consider myself lucky as the Borders was one area which kind of missed out on the big 'waxwing winter' of 2010.

Other birds of interest today where Buzzards, Kestrels, couple of Sparrowhawks and a possible Raven, but I am still getting this clarified on another thread.
