First "Bald" Cardinal (1 Viewer)

I was shocked to see a bald female Northern Cardinal today on a feeder here in my yard. Of course I had to "Google" it, and checked out several hits.

I gather that it's not uncommon, there is no major consensus on why (with mites being the leading suspect) and that it *probably* won't affect the next molt (?)

Still...it was a unique thing to see...

Poor girl... I hope she's okay... |=(|
