Flying from Cozumel to Cancun, and then Cancun to SLC in airports all day is NOT the greatest way to start the year.
Since this will be my first complete year of birding, I'm not going to set the bar too high. 100 will be the goal.

Luckily at the Cozumel airport I did happen upon two birds.
1. Great-Tailed Grackle
2. Tropical Mockingbird

Lifers will be in bold.

Second Day: Back at home. Nothing in the garden all day (other than the BBM), and I only got my parents to bring me to a pond with not-so-many birds. Did see a lifer though which is kind of surprising.

3. Black-Billed Magpie
4. Canada Goose
5. Mallard
6. Barrow's Goldeneye

Went skiing today (I still need to make a birding trip), and saw 2 new ones.

7. American Crow
8. Common Goldeneye

The reason I've gotten so many lifers is because this is my first birding winter :)
