Visited a friend today and went for a walk near a river and after a few minutes we looked up and there was a Kestral hovering literally almost right above us just a few yards to the side.
It could have been a lovely shot from underneath but my camera was at home.
To add insult to injury we saw two others doing similar although further away.
Isnt that just the way?

Yep! When I have my camera, the birds pass the message on - "She's got her camera with her - quick, hide!"

If I have no camera and no access to an iPhone, they take great delight in appearing and staying out for ages.

saw my first falcon for the area, no cam, plus it just happened to be on our land...
Yep it seems they come out when the cameras away...
