Monarch 7 Rubber Armouring Wear. (1 Viewer)

Has anybody had issues with the rubber armouring wearing and cracking excessively at the points of grasp? This seems to be an issue of poor quality rubber, I have only had mine 18 months and this is the state they are in. I do use them a lot but so do most birders!!

Hi - i think elsewhere on the Nikon forum when discussing the M7, someone had mentioned 'bubbling up' of the armour - like it didn't fit properly. I also think Allbinos review mentioned it was not of the top order. I think i'd contact Nikon UK about it. Mine don't exhibit any problems, but i don't use them as much as perhaps i should.

Cheers, yes I contacted Nikon asked me to send them to the service centre. A shame as they are good bins let down by a poor cosmetic feature.

I suppose such great optics for that price is going to have corners cut somewhere - as you say, it's a shame though. Good luck with the repair!
