I am wondering if tehre is a species inMalysia that sounds very similar to corncrake... either that or I have heard a couple of them here so far! :) Can any one enlight me please?

There were what seems to be Asian Glossy Siwifts flying around the cabbage patch of my hostel yesterday. Is that possible?

a 10 Yellow Vented bulbul

1 asian spotted owlet
1 spotted dove
1 speckled piculet
6+ grey cheecked minivet
1 ad 1 j longtailed sibia
2 grey throated babbler
1 ad streaked spider hunter
pacific swallow
magpie robin

uncertain sightings..
2 spectacled or yellow eared spiderhunters

Saw quite a few other species that I haven't been able to ID yet but it was a good day. Malysia is a birders paradise and I can't wait to do some more...

James,

Not done Cameron Highlands as yet but would make the following comments.

More likely to be Yellow-eared Spiderhunter on elevation.
The Fulvetta is most likely Mountain Fulvetta.

Thanks John. Am not 100% sure about Grey Cheeked Minivet actually - it's a guess.

Have an ok record picture of the mountain hawk eagle which I'll try and upload as soon as I can work it out!
