Surprising late news from Friday came from photos posted on the HKBWS website of what seems to be the first Brahminy Kite in Hong Kong for almost 25 years: http://www.hkbws.org.hk/BBS/redirect.php?tid=21705&goto=lastpost#lastpost
I think that most of us who weren't in HK at that time had assumed that this was a species we weren't going to get the chance to see here.
... Unfortunately it looks like we may have been right, and this bird has not been seen by anyone apart from the lucky photographer. But previous birds have stayed for several months, so perhaps there's still a chance it's hiding out there somewhere!
There has also been a very obliging and very popular Spoon-billed Sandpiper showing well at the high tide roosts for the last few days: http://www.hkbws.org.hk/BBS/redirect.php?tid=21720&goto=lastpost#lastpost and today it was also seen on a fishpond just outside the reserve: http://www.hkbws.org.hk/BBS/viewthread.php?tid=21727
