Need help with Zeiss compact binocular (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I am looking to purchase a compact zeiss binocular. I have sampled the zeiss 8x20 victory model and liked it. There is another model that I have ran into, on the internet, that I cannot find any info about. It's called the Zeiss 8x20 Design Binocular and it looks similar to the victory. Can anyone tell me the difference or anything about it? Does it have a diopter adjustment? A big concern for me is waterproofing, durability, and up to date lense coatings.

Here is a link to a picture.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what the pricing is but Cameraland have new (demo but essentially New) Zeiss Victory for $399 and they had them holiday priced for $349. So if you asked really nicely they might do you a deal. See the Bargain Bins thread for more details.

As you say these look like Victorys ... something like an earlier version so I suspect the optics are a little different but I haven't seen them before.

Searching here also helps e.g. see

The specs are at this (possibly dubious) site

Magnification 8

Infinite adjustment range to 3m
Center drive adjustability -4dpt
Diopter compensation +/-2dpt

Interpupillary distance from - to 31-72mm

Given the pricing I'd look for a discounted Victory

Design Selection is an older model line than Victory. Get the Victory, and make sure you get one that was made in the last couple years because the pocket models were improved (including use of dielectric coatings) after their initial release.
