Just taken delivery of my new 85 T today, sadly the 20 - 60x zoom will not be here until the middle of next week.

That is a huge chunk of glass up front and I am wondering if I need a UV haze filter for protection and digiscoping? If so, where from?

Thanks Steve, I spent too many years as an army photographer in extreme conditions (helicopters, tanks, dust, jungle and nosy idiots), a UV was essential to protect my gear. I will try to live without one for now but if the old lens maternal instinct returns I will reconsider.

Update: I saw this on Ebay and bid on an 86mm Sigma UV, however; it went up to £36 + postage so I let it go. I then checked further and found a Japanese Kood 86mm UV for £13.00 + £1.25 postage, it arrived within two days and is excellent.

No so good news on my cameras and tripod head. The Nikon 8400 and Pana DMC Z50 are not very happy on the Zeiss QCA so a Nikon P5000 is on it's way.

The Manfrotto 115 head is very clumsy with all that weight on it. In my present impecunious state I have plumped for the Indian copy of the Manfrotto 393 and will find out on arrival if I have made another mistake.
