Swarovski slc 10x42 hd vs Swarovski 10x42 SV (1 Viewer)

hi, I have a question to those who have experience with the two binoculars. Which is better in terms of sharpness, clarity, brightness and contrast? I read in scopeviews.co.uk that swaro SV is brighter, deeper, and sharper bino with more contrast, and the only advantade of the SLC HD is the smaller size, is that true? Thanks in advance!

I have an SLC and a couple of SV EL models, but not in the size you mentioned.

The sharpness of both model lines exceed my visual acuity which is a little better than 20/20 but nowhere near 20/10.

The SV models of mine seem to have a little more apparent brightness, but that may be due in part to differences in color balance.

Here is what the test sight Allbinos reports:

10X42 SLC WB HD 85.6% (Older version)

10X42 SLC WB 93.4% (Newer version)

10X42 EL SV 90.8%

Keep in mind that the tests were done at different dates so it is possible that the methods and equipment could be different.

Tests from Dr. G. posted on the House of Outdoors website:

10X42 SLC WB HD 90.0% at 555nm

I could not find testing data for the 10X42 EL SV.

"Personally, I prefer the SV over the SLC. The only thing where the SLC really stands out is the glare control, which I found to be better in the SLC.
Color saturation, contrast, and sharpness is on a par (at least to me) for both bins.

Better glare control in the SLC might be an issue to consider. I have the SV and glare can be a problem in some situations with low sun etc.
In most other ways, like the quoted BF member above, I prefer the SV. The SLC might be better value for money though.

Thanks. On allbinos there are several swarovski 10x42 SLC models which are tested, I saw that 2010 model has the highest ranking, which is the best model SLC neu, SLC WB, SLC WB HD or the current 2017 model?

this model from 2010 http://www.allbinos.com/122-binoculars_review-Swarovski_SLC_New_10x42_WB.html is better than the current model http://www.allbinos.com/303-binoculars_review-Swarovski_SLC_10x42_W_B.html and the HD model http://www.allbinos.com/1141-Swarovski_SLC_10x42_WB_HD-binoculars_specifications.html, so it's a little bit strange, is there any differences between the three model and which is the best?

Most likely the latest is the greatest optically (latest coatings).
But you might prefer one of them for some other reason.
