My new digital camera came yesterday. twelve hours later I think I have the software installed and it is starting to resemble a camera to me. (first real digital camera) Canon G-3 Can anyone recomend a card reader that would complament this array?

I would get a USB 2.0 Reader, regardless if you system has USB 2.0. You can add a 2.0 card now or later. If you already have USB 2.0 ports then your set.. I have found that some are clearly marked as 2.0 and some are not. I have the Lexar Reader. I only found that it was 2.0 after I opened the package and found it printed on the reader itself. Its a multireader ( I think 4) which you may or may not want. I got this version because I know several people that are into digital photography and each one uses a different media. I can't remember the exact cost but I think about $45. You can get single readers for a little less.

If you have firewire Lexar also makes single and multi card readers for this.
