There's lots of great places in and around the park, we've two Opus articles.

It covers quite a big area - whereabouts will you be staying?

You could try asking the boys in the Gwent Birding thread, as most of them know the area fairly well.

Nice... right on the Canal - lovely walks along there - should get Kingfisher.

Llangorse Lake not far (park by the chapel at Llangasty Tallyllyn).

The Silent Valley reserve is not far too.

Definitely ask the Gwent boys, though. There's some live not far away.

Yes delia the cottage is right on the canel. I have posted on the Gwent thread as recommended.
