Great birding day near Dordrecht (NL) (1 Viewer)

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day and I went to the Tongplaat near Dordrecht. This former agricultural land is flooded now by the river and is very rich with birds. I parked my car at the Zuiderhaven. From there till the Tongplaat were a lot of Magpies, Eurasian Jays, Eurasian Jackdaws and Carrion Crows.

At the Tongplaat there was a lot of waterfowl. I stayed for a while in the concrete hide and later on I walked to the river. From there on I could see an adult White-tailed Eagle very well with my spotting scope. Ten minutes later there was a huge panic among the waterfowl and they all flew up. The reason was the White-tailed Eagle that flew by. I also heard two Cetti's Warblers calling, but didn't manage to see them.

The birds I saw were :

Great-crested Grebe
Great Cormorant
Great White Egret
Grey Heron
Mute Swan
White-fronted Goose
Greylag Goose
Canada Goose
Common Shelduck
Egyptian Goose
Eurasian Wigeon
Mallard
Gadwall
Northern Shoveler
Common Teal
Common Pochard
Tufted Duck
White-tailed Eagle
Common Pheasant
Common Coot
Northern Lapwing
Common Snipe
Black-headed Gull
Robin
Eurasian Jay
Magpie
Eurasian Jackdaw
Carrion Crow
Goldfinch
Reed Bunting
