Female goldfinch? New England (1 Viewer)

I took these photos today of a bird sitting in a tree and then at my feeder. I think it was the same bird, although I had so many visitors at the feeder that I could be mistaken. At first I thought it was a female goldfinch, but the bill is too dark and then there is the eye ring.

The eyering is there but I don't know, this bird is an American Goldfinch female. I gotta go with my gut.
Oh yeah the dark bill is also off but i'm sticking on Goldie .

Just a note for me, and maybe others can speak against me with some confident plumage reasoning, but I wouldn't label a sex on this bird.
