Could it have been a Marsh Harrier? (1 Viewer)

On Friday at about 5.00pm I looked out my bedroom window and saw a large bird of prey flying over the estate (it wasn't hunting). I thought it looked like a Marsh Harrier, and then with my bins I'm sure it was!

But I have lingering feelings it could have been a Buzzard. Surely a Marsh Harrier flying over isn't likely, is it? I wish I'd take a picture! It went quite quickly, and was the right size, and shape for one but did have unusal colouring.

Could you confirm location please

Mid to slightly West Kent. Location a housing estate adjacent to weed fields and farmland, no marshes in sight! Though I spose that doesn't necessarily matter. I thought it could have been on migration, I just couldn't believe my eyes!

I am currently monitoring nesting Marsh Harriers on Kent Marshes and over the last week have Osprey and Buzzard heading N.W .
Could it have been a Red Kite?the ones released around the Oxford area appear to be heading east .

It would help to know what the unusual colouring was.
