I used the Nikon Coolpix range for a long while but have lost touch recently. I know they used to be good digiscoping cameras but then Nikon moved away from that with no threaded fittings and vignetting issues etc.

Does anyone know if they are back in the game?

Steve,
There are a few threads here on the P300 Series (P300/310/330/340) so you can see what's possible. No replacement of the 8400 though so if you want that functionality you should move to Micro Four Thirds.
