Updates having received this month's Birdwatch:

Interesting the updates that I've personally missed on the forum or haven't been aired that appear in Birdwatch mag.

1) The Great Knot won't be submitted. I did actually spot this as a possible outcome on a thread.

2) The Devon "peep" is to be submitted as Western, plus droppings were taken for DNA.

3) The south-west round-up only mentions one Little Bittern (female) on Scilly.

4) The third Collared Fly that was present on Scilly.

5) No mention of Wheldrake Pacific Swift in north-east round-up - presume not being pursued.

6) No mention of the possible Eleonora's Falcon in Dorset.

7) No mention of the possible Black-eared Wheatear in Scotland, or any indication the Solitary Sand. was present for more than a day.

I had a feeling that Knot wouldn't be submitted... Does anyone know why though? At the time the original finders were very confident of its ID apparently.

It was on examination of the photographs. There were certain ones that suggested it was simply a Knot. It does soud as though it was an odd looking bird though, and may still have been Great Knot. However, they are not 100%, so are doing what I think is the right thing.
