"Land viewing" recommendations (1 Viewer)

"Land viewing" - I'm not sure that's really the right term, but it is what we want to do. We want to get a scope for setting up at home (Living room front window as it will be in Scotland after all.) which we'll use primarily for looking out over water at boats, and beyond to the hills behind that. I think a wide field of view rather than magnification is what we're really after.

I've read screen after screen of specs and reviews of birding scopes and astronomy scopes, even hunting scopes! I think the choice comes down to a birding scope or an astro with an image erecting what not. But you look at the Leicas and the Svarovskis and there's not much in it, and then the Tele Vue range is a knock out.

Weather proofing and portability don't really come into it, although I might lug the thing arouns a little bit. A cat would look nicer in the front room, but Leica do a nice one, too... Oh I dunno. Any opinions welcome.
