Lucky to have these Gulls in a row today. From right:
1. Ring-billed Gull
2. Common Gull
with Black-headed Gulls and a Iceland

Is the Common Gull a rarity there or is it regular? I assume it is of European origin rather than a Mew Gull from the west

And, you are right! Common Gulls are rare in Newfoundland and people believe they are varants from Europe. We have three long term residents in St. John's.
