Size : a very small Raptor of the size of Shikra-male + / -

Location : Village Kafra; Dwarahat Town; Dist. Almora; Uttarakhand Himalayas; India.

Date : 07.04.2017 ; 5.47 pm

Provisional ID : Lesser Kestrel - F

It unsuccessfully attacked two Crested Bunting males having territorial show-off.

Since Juvenile Shikras are not frequently seen in early April, sp. in Himalayas at 5000 ft., where they breed during mid summer, I inquired on another ID-forum, who, though not sure, also suggested possibility of this being a Besra ... !
Any comments ... ?

So was my identification of this beauty in Goa as a shikra wrong? Or did I get it right?

Unfortunately the tail baring is obscured by the perch.

I am fairly certain this another Shikra on account of the grey orbital ring which is diagnostic. I am probably guilty of over-simplifying the differences in my earlier post.
