Field-sketches and descriptions (1 Viewer)

That's cheating! They're not field notes unless you've suffered to make them. Sitting in your dining room, presumably with a nice single malt to hand, is NOT suffering for your art.

I would be far, far too embarrassed to post any and having seen the standard here I feel completely justified. Your sketches look like birds! Mine are amorphous shapes, possibly vaguely resembling parts of a bird. My Dartford Warbler looks like a Primary school Christmas Robin. :stuck:

Jane and Chris,
Great sketches and field notes. I'll try and scan one of mine this PM but be forewarned, mine are not as good!

I'll find some of the less accurate ones of mine... oh I also have a rejected one.. that should be a laugh

Thats what i want to see Jane the first sketches / fieldnotes peeps did, as the more accomplished stuff just leaves me feeling a no hoper. :-C

Hi Jane,
Too embarrassed to scan mine, not that they're so much worse than what I've seen, but they're not great!
Still, might yet scan some of my better efforts, such as the 'controversial' AGP,Hume's etc

Jane and Chris, did you see Birdmans thread yesterday re the gallery which shows some really superior Art work.I guess some of those exhibitors could contribute and include some extra written details,re time and place etc.
Christine.

As a lazy, impetuous and half-hearted birdwatcher field sketches have never really appealed to me ! Don't think I've ever done one and I can't see it happening in the future.
