what kind of snipe? Okinawa (1 Viewer)

looks like a Common Snipe to me!
My God, I'm simply in awe. Where on earth do you begin with these things? I can just about cope with Common and Great Snipe, but as for the rest... Going by the books I would have called this Swinhoe's, but really I'm a total dude. Would be very interested to read the whys and wherefores.
 
IMO Common Snipe. The lower 'mantle brace' is too broad for Swinhoes, which has narrow, evenish margins, not obviously broader margins on the outer web ( it's the same with the lowest scapulars ). The barring on the flank reaches to the vent ( there can be an overlap but on the few Common that show this much it's fainter to the rear, not evenly dark all along the length ). The breast colour doesn't look rufous enough either, but it's difficult from a single photo to be sure. The wing coverts look a bit strange but I think that's down to wear and bleaching.
