Depth of field (1 Viewer)

Bought a pair of 8.5 el two weeks ago. Did so mostly based on ergonomics and .5 increased magnification added to a good field of view. The problem is that they give me some kind of a nausea feeling when I look at my feeders. I came to atribute this to its shallow depth of field (possibly added to its relatively wide field of view). The idea is that birds on the feeder look crisp while the nearby background looks blurry (causing my discomfort). Has any one experienced something similar?
