Bird of prey id for Kent England (1 Viewer)

Hello

Im hoping someone can id a bird of prey that has been visiting my garden in Herne Bay Kent. I cant seem to find photos that resemble it. It was around 14 inches tall and had a cream coloured chest with brown back and wings.

From your description, it's possible that it's a Sparrowhawk from 2cy (2nd calender year starts today ;) ) juve to a 3cy+ female. But, even an adult male Sparrowhawk would fit your description in certain light (you'd be surprised how different they look in different light). Also a Kestrel is a possibility, depending on your location and the local habitat.

However, how sure are you that it's a Raptor? A few more details might help - although it's likely you'll never know for sure without taking a photograph
