taken today at Warsash/hook in Hampshire. I have a feeling it's a chiff chaff but wondered what others think.

Difficult to see for sure, but looks good for a chiff chaff. At that distance/quality it could just as easily be a Willow warbler. Did you hear song at all? if so, check the song recordings for each on the RSPB website to see if you heard either of those. It's not a perfect guarantee, but it's the best chance to be sure.
