Weird Duck Behavior... (1 Viewer)

The other day there was a group of ducks, about 5, and one of the ducks (possibly a parent) was chasing around one of the other ducks and he was trying to bite its head.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Imcool,

Welcome to BirdForum!

Gang rape, I fear . . . when mating, the male always grabs the female on the back of its head.

Would these be semi-domestic ducks on a park lake? - these birds which usually descend from escaped poultry farm ducks are bred by the farmer for high sexual activity (as it means more eggs to sell). So this is common behaviour among urban ducks
