Hoary Redpoll, Carduelis hornemanni exilipes.

This photo was taken by one of the participants of our recent Winter Birding Festival up in the Sax Zim Bog area near Duluth, Minnesota. (Photo by Karen Stair, Kansas City, Missouri). The festival was held February 15th to 17th, 2009.

I saw this one, and one other, among the hundreds of Common Redpolls, Carduelis flammea.
