Pair of Peregrines with 2 fledged young in the disused Newhey Quarry, Newhey (Rochdale). Young seen flying and feeding, 1 on a pigeon (with a blue leg ring) and 1 on what looked like a House Sparrow from a distance. Both adults provided food, then flew off to find more after around 90 mins watching over them.

Park in Haugh Lane (off Huddersfield Road, Newhey) and cross over to metal gates at the entrance to the quarry. To the right of the gate there is a climb-over point. Follow path down, then bear right prior to a small lake. Good views from a hillock around 100 yards from tarmac road, where there are several clear points where the birds feed and rest.
