oops- away from the easel for a week and already spiralling down the second page
here's beginnings of the next project, view is from exactly the same place as the short-eared owl pic I inflicted on y'all a couple of weeks ago, but this time facing 180 degrees in the opposite direction and looking up the ditch inside the sea wall
I'm trying a new (but I suspect not novel) technique of actually working out where the bird will be and drawing it in when I start

So there I was waking along the main street in Kirkwall when out of 'The Reel' strolls a birdy-mate - David Edgar (coincidentally a lawyer). Glancing down I notice a filthy bird-porn mag under his arm and adorning the cover is a riot of action and colour which seems immediately familiar to me; "That's f*cking Kebble's f*cking waxwings" I eloquently announce. And indeed it was - in all its glory.
Well done Ed - 'Birding World' has never looked so juicily enticing as it does this month!!!
