I thought this was a blackbird with some sort of crest up, now it looks strange it didnt seem to be as large as a blackbird, but it was distant. any comments welcome.

Yep, I'd say it was a Blackbird.

I reckon the "crest" is maybe just the feathers getting ruffled in the wind.

Cheers thought it was, just needed to make sure the marks on the head seemed very thrush like too, like a faded version of the markings on a redwing.

I also think it was a female or immature blackbird.
