Hi,
When I saw this moth I assumed it would be an easy to identify hawk-moth, but I just cannot seem to match it with images in my books.
Photos taken today (10 Apr 2005) in Derbyshire, UK.
All identification suggestions will be gratefully received.

Thanks,
Hugh

Hugh,
Not a Hawk-moth, but a Noctuid,

This is an Angle Shades
