best settings to Canon 40D with 50mm F1.8 (1 Viewer)

I have got system where I can try Canon 40D with canon 50mm F1.8 and Nikon Fieldscope 82 ED A.

It's not so easy focus manually, I have tryed so that objective are put manually focus to infinitive and focus are made with fieldscope.

I have selected aperature selection from camera.

How I can made easier this focusing.
