Good Merlin sites, Northern England? (1 Viewer)

Did a quick thread search on here and on the Yorks forum, and not too much popped up. Have a friend living in Saltaire who's not having much luck finding Merlins despite trying some well-known sites like Leighton Moss and Blacktoft. Any good tips for time of day, season and location, not too far away?
Thanks in advance,
Andy.

Lindisfarne / Holy Island usually produces one or two - scan the mudflats, and also field walls on the island. And keep a close look at any panicking flocks of small birds.

Foulshaw Moss Cumbria CWT reserve. A Merlin has been around all winter.[might be two]. I've been twice this Winter and saw one perching on one of the visits.
