A splendid day at the Cap together with my wife, my daughter and the very nice locals produced a good amount of Honeybuzzards, some Hobbies, many Red Kites and Booted Eagles and a group of around 40 Ravens. No luck with the Rock Sparrows, but I’ve been told by a local friend that even he has never seen them. I’m certainly not giving up yet!

Cheers
Martin

A good number of Honeybuzzards (~40) as well as quite a few Hobbies today at the Cap. An immature female Bonelli’s Eagle was harassing an adult male Bonelli’s Eagle.
The lovely company of our local friends made it a fantastic day.

Cheers
Martin

A female type Pallid Harrier has been seen this morning by Adolfo at Cap Blanc.
Pallid harriers have become more frequent in recent years. I believe there are quite a few around Barcelona at the moment so let's hope a few come through Mallorca. Mike

Hiya everyone, Im looking to do an observational study on cinereous/black/monk vultures and am wondering if it's actually possible! If I came out to mallorca for a few days am I likely to get some good sightings or is it a case of seeing them flying overhead more than on the ground ?

I'd be coming oct-dec so not breeding time, obviously every day is different but if it's not worth it I'll change my research focus, TIA!

Stayed till dark on thd son bosc deck s albufera tonight.1500-2000 European Starlings. 15 give or take a couple marsh harriers came into roost. Corn bunting and a few stone curlew. Plus usual.
At ses salines today nothing of real note but 3 black necked grebes and the little egret hybrid. Nice to see it properly and its travelled a bit, s9mone reported it to me on the albufereta river over the weekend. Or is there two.
2 gw egret. Curlew sand, ruff and plenty of little stints
Raptors were lotsof kestrel, few red kites and booted eagles, Elenoras falcon too.
Forgot to mention 23 yellow wagtail into roost too.

A couple shots of a Juvenile Bonelli's Eagle harassed by two Ravens, yesterday at the Cap. It was carrying a transmitter and a red and white ring to its right leg. It would be interesting if someone knows more about that.
No other birds of note there.

Then the Hybrid Egret at Salobrar, also yesterday. I added a shot of another (?) hybrid I took at Maristany in mid-July this year. The lighting is very different (midday vs early morning) but they may be two different birds.?
