Costa Rica Birds March 2017 (1 Viewer)

Pat MS

Well-known member
Grateful for any help with IDs on these 5 birds, all photographed in Costa Rica in the last few weeks. My thoughts:

ID1 - Black cowled Oriole
ID2 - Female Blue-black Grassquit
ID3 - Thrush species?
ID4 - Female Cherri's Tanager
ID5 - Inca Dove

Thanks

Pat

I believe that female Cherrie's and Passerini's Tanagers look identical, you can possibly tell them apart by the location and the males they associate with.

It is male Passerini's and Cherrie's Tanagers that are identical; the females are different; as indicated, your bird is a female Cherrie's Tanager Ramphocelus costaricensis.
