Baby bird fell out of a palm tree (1 Viewer)

Hello all,

My neighbor was at a park and a baby bird fell out of a palm tree, windy day I think. She waited to see if the mama bird would come and get it (does that happen, can they?) Anyway no mama bird and the palm tree was tall and she couldn't get it back in the nest. She brought it home. She called someone and they said they would come and get it. Well, no one showed up.

April 12 is the baby bird photo
May 3 is the baby bird now.

Question: She has been feeding him as you can see he/she is growing and chirping. She is not sure if she will keep him or when he is old enough to fly to let him go outside and be wild where he came from. Any advice if she should release him when he is able to fly away or keep him as a pet or look for someone who can take care of him to put him out to the wild again? What kind of bird is he/she?

If there is a company out there that will take him and make him live out in the wild please contact me so I can forward your number to her.

Thank you
