I took this photo of a pair of Chough and by the rings the local ringer could tell that the male is 19 years old and his mate is 20 years. They are the oldest breeding pair on the Lleyn Peninsula, amazing. I cannot always get too close for the letters and numbers but the colours of the rings tell the history.
