Ringed Herring gull,South Wales (1 Viewer)

I took the attached pic above my back garden this morning.It seems to have an unusually large ring attached.Does anyone recognise it?

It looks kind to me.. so Common Gull.. heavy rings.. I don't like it.

Certainly not a Common Gull, Ben - look at that bill - red gon spot, underwing and structure all wrong for common gull. Looks fine for Herring Gull to me although difficult angle admittedly without full wing visible.

I guess you know how to report it here, Mike? http://blx1.bto.org/euring/main/rings.jsp?LAN=en I understand there are mixed results in responding to reporters with details of the scheme and bird.
