Inside and out, this looks just like a Bushnell Custom 7x25
with its "spectacles" pulled into a ruggedized body with
two little screw-on 'windshields'.
Very solid and smooth, though with a similar
grease-stiffening to the little Customs. A tiny bit of WD40
and some physical therapy got that cured.
The view really pops at first, though the eye relief is more
sparing than the little Customs. Nice flat view, with definite softening
near the edges of the 400ft view. Super-smooth sharp focus.
Something was missing, though....contrast.
I looked through but it looked clean. Cleaning the already
clean windshields and UVC front on the objectives suddenly made
it jump into great contrast. I had done a water/detergent swabbing
first, for nicotine. Then the Windex.
Looks like that was the issue. Nicotine is tricky..
you cannot see the veil but the whole layer fluoresces and makes haze.
Anyway, it's great now! Sort of an "up-armored custom".
Multi-coatings up front get disturbed easily with nicotine/tar.
Seems a lot like today's 7x25 Bushnell Elite...maybe not quite as
perfect a field, but very handy.
