Iscoping with the GS52 ED (1 Viewer)

Been a long time coming but... We finally have production samples of the smartphone adaptors in hand - there has been a lot of to and fro with our contract manufacturer to get everything just so.

Once we've finalised everything, I'll put up a thread in the digiscoping section with full details.

Cheers, Pete

Thanks for the update Pete. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Dylan - I really do hope so - we were hoping to have had production units in hand by now but we're still waiting...

More iscoping

Went out early this morning to miss the hottest part of the day. Took the GS52 ED along. Used iPhone through eyepiece to capture this Garden Warbler.

Love the pics, and i'm seriously considering getting a GS52 ED for hiking across the moors. That 18x looks the business and would be great for raptors as they are larger than average birds.

The image through the 18x eyepiece is excellent. There is also a HDF 24x fixed eyepiece. I have not tried the 24x myself yet, but intend doing so soon. Obviously with increased magnification you get less field of view.

Again, this scope continues to impress me.

Some other impressed birders.

Ohhhha 24x ? Yes, thats my ticket.

Nice blog, enjoyed the read and agree the big swaro is ornothological porn lol. Great record shot from that distance too. That must look good through the scope with the mk1 eyeball.

Glad you enjoyed the read. The 24x eyepiece is this one, Opticron 40858 HDF. As I said, I have not had chance to try one out yet, but it sounds ideal. I just need to see what the field of view looks like at 24x. The 18x as I have already stated gives a very bright sharp image.

Ill snag a 24x when I get the funds together. Im in theneed for a real light weight as 18 miles over moorland gets a bit lumpy with a big 85mm scope.
