New Sigma 50-500mm Lens Hood Tube? (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

My Sigma 50-500mm lens came with the standard lens hood and what looks like a plastic extension tube. The tube fits the lens hood and lens. I was just curious what this extension tube is for.

Thanks,

Dana

User guide that came with the lens?

I recall something about the hood extension being used when the lens is mounted on a FX or DX camera, while it stays off in the other case.

Thanks,

I checked the manual but didn't see anything on the tube.

See ya,

Dana
