Bugiri district, Uganda (2 Viewers)

'Green Scum'
I shall be going to Bugiri, S.W. of Kampala for the first couple of weeks of August. This will be work not a holiday but of course I am hoping for some time to look at the natural environment. This however is going to be for short periods of time. I will be in rural places. Has anyone any knowledge of this area in terms of birds or other wildlife? Also a recommendation for a good field guide for the area would be appreciated.

Any information gratefully received!!!

Thanks,

Keith

Hello, I was in Uganda last August, although I didn't visit the area you mention. You can check my trip report and photos at www.iyufera.com, including some bibliography you may find useful. If I can help you with any further info, let me know.

The best guide available is Fiel Guide to the Birds of East Africa, by Terry Stevenson and John Fanshawe, T& AD Poyser.

You will love Uganda. Have a nice stay there,
