Higher light transmission. (1 Viewer)

Hello,
I would like to know what "alpha" binocular is the one that has higher light transmission and higher contrast.
In relation to this, any "alpha" has higher light transm., That any binocular average cost.?
There is much difference between them?

The highest light transmissions I know of and which we measured ourselves also are found in the Swarovski Habicht porros with light transmissions of 96% and very high contrast transfer.
In roof prism binoculars we measured the highest light transmissions in different Zeiss models (lately especialy the Victory HT models) and different Swarovski models.

I have a question about whether there is a specific place in the visible light spectrum where the transmission is measured or if it is an overall average of the entire visible spectrum that is measured? We see much discussion about the measurements in the "blue" or violet end of the spectrum; less so in the green, yellow and red portions where color is important.

The companies and some investigators (and we are of that species) measure a total transmission spectrum ranging from 350 or 450 tot 700 or 750 nm and that covers the whole visible spectrum. Often the maximum value of optimum sensitivy of the eye at daylight is mentioned, which is in the green 550-555 nm and also the value at 500 nm, the optimum sensitivity of the eye at low light levels. More sophisticated is to compare the whole spectrum with the sensitivity spectrumof the eye at low light levels and/or at daylight. Since a toital measured spectrum also gives information about color reproduction of the instrument we and other investigators (sometimes also the companies themselves) generally publish the whole spectrum.
